Stone can have different absorption characteristics manifesting as dynamically as the color or pattern does. So when applying VRM watch for different absorption characteristics like some spots absorbing more than other spots. Once an even sheen is achieved, leave VRM to absorb into the stone on its own. VRM will not stop the material from drying back to it's original color. This is an aspect of the WIPE and GO™ collection of sealers.

When you return to to test the stone's ability to resist staining, you may notice a light haze on the surface. Remove the haze with a few back and forth strokes with a dry micro fiber rag.

Test the sealed stone's repelling ability. If you are satisfied with the results, you are done.
